Washington DC Cherry Blossoms

Well, that's why we booked our bus tour...to see some
cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, according to Mother
Nature, we were a week or two too early...sigh.

So we spent the day walking over to Arlington Cemetery,
but I'll cover that in a future topic.

Here are the very FEW blooms we did come across. I
hope you enjoy.

Sorry you didn't get to see the cherry blossoms as planned, but these photos are gorgeous! Looks like you had beautiful weather. Thanks for posting!!

Thanks so much, Christy, for viewing and leaving such a nice
comment. We were also able to get in our "exercise..."

Over a six hour period, we walked over 10 miles, and were up
and down many hills and steps at the Arlington Cemetery...
thank goodness the weather was indeed, beautiful!

Nice shots, Tim. I was surprised to see the Japonica in full bloom like that. I have one here and its not even sending out buds yet. Could be a different variety. I'm only 70mi north of D.C. I see you're from PA. Are you near the MD border? I'm only 30min south of PA border near Rte 83N.

Thanks, Tom for reaching out to me and I'm glad
you liked this series from our botched trip to DC.

(There's so many puns that could be added to that
last part of my first sentence, but I'll leave it ride...lol)

We actually have three Japonicas around our Koi pond
and they are still in their "red" winter mode. We live
in the Hanover-Gettysburg area, so just above the MD
line.

Thanks for sharing your terrific pictures and information.
We're going to be in DC from 4/5-4/8/19 and hoping/praying that the blossoms will be "blossoming" ; and that my photography techniques will be up for the challenge.
We will also try to spend some time at Arlington and the Police Memorial (retired Cop).
Please wish us luck and Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks so much for viewing and leaving such a nice comment!

I hope your weather was as nice as ours was (lower 60s, sunny and a light
breeze), but more importantly, I hope the cherry blossoms show in all their
glory.

Please let me know when you post your images...I can hardly wait!
