We went to a new preserve today and spotted a few hawks of different types: a harrier swooping low over the grass; a cute kestrel sitting on a post; and a hawk that I can’t ID. (They are so tricky!) Please enjoy the downloads and I welcome help with ID for the final shot.
A beautiful set. Where is this new place? Mahalo for sharing.
Great work on these, Bernie!
Beautiful images, Bernie...the last photo is an immature Red-tail hawk.

Hello JoAnne. This area is just outside Philly in the Gwynedd Valley. It is one of the largest we have encountered. I can't wait to go back, as spring more fully unfurls. Thanks so much for your nice comment!

Possible a Coopers Hawk.
Hi OD. I have been working hard on getting better at ID. Based on what I have since learned, it most likely is an immature red tail. Thanks for dropping by!

Hey there Jederick. Thanks for the complement and for the ID. I searched the web and found a picture that sealed the deal, after I read your comment. I see more of this type of hawk than any other. You would think I would be better at it lol! Take care!

Hi there, Sylvia! I am glad you like my birdies! I hope the big cats are much easier to capture!
