It sure is Mike. It doesn't take them long to get here once I put out the peanuts.

It sure is Mike. It doesn't take them any time at all to come when I put out peanuts. They are learning that they have to be fast to beat the Blue Jays.

I have raised a few of these from birth.

The second shot I posted in this thread has the youngest I have had any real contact with. Did you bottle feed them?

Eye dropper. Got a formula from the pet store, used a heating pad to keep them warm. Some were so small the eyes were not open and not all of them made it, most that I raised already had the eyes open though and did great.

That's dedication. It is always hard when one doesn't make it.

I felt bad, but the others would not have survived if I had not cared for them, so I felt good too.

I'm just sitting here waiting for my peanut. Be still my heart, I see Peanuts.

I saw one of my cats chattering and looked up and saw this little guy just waiting for me to put out the morning feast.

Wonderful pic. Brings back memories of my childhood and the squirrel that would sit on my lap to get treats.

Funny you should say that. Your comment and the great shot brought up long buried memories of the squirrel who came down off the Oak in the front of the covered stoop to sit on my lap to get peanuts. The next year it brought one of its young along to get the peanuts. The tree has been brought down decades ago due to age and disease. The squirrels may still be bugging the tenants that live in that house. I hope they are nice to them (either direction). One note is that the squirrel(s) did not approach anyone else, only me.

I don't know what the squirrels see in someone that makes them a target, but I have had them jump up on me twice. Once in the second shot above and the other time one jumped up my leg then into my car and sat on the steering wheel like he was driving. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't have taken a shot if I had tried.

Hi Jan,

Very cute squirrel pictures, especially this little guy. My wife says "Ahwwwwww...". We feed the squirrels at our local park all the time. There are a few bold squirrels that'll climb up my leg to get a peanut, but not the little ones.

Mike
