I enjoyed the song, and the progression of military photos, that were a part of it.
Huey,
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this link. I did forward it. NO truer words said, or better expressed! My uncle(my mom's sister's husband) came back from WW2 with deep depression and PTSD, and at one time had to have electroshock therapy to help him. I could NOT STOP crying! In fact, I'm tearing up just writing this. I know of NO words to adequately express the pride and thankfulness I feel for our servicemen and women, and their brave protection of our country and freedom! My parents were both in the Air Force in WW2, stationed in Washington DC, which is how they met,(my mom from Kansas, my dad from California) and were very proud to have served our country.

My daughter is a psychotherapist who works with people who have undergone trauma, including PTSD. One type of therapy that she uses successfully is EMDR. Anyone who knows someone suffering from trauma should suggest finding an EMDR therapist.
Thanks for sharing this.

Personally dealing with and addressing PTSD myself. No one gets "healed"...we simply learn to cope.
Very good; thank you for sharing...
Much has been said, written, published, broadcasted and posted about this. Yet it still needs said again. This post said it better than many others.
Powerful song...thank you!
A great video and song lyrics. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I will be pleased to forward it on to others, some who have been right there on the battlefield and many others who seem to feel they never had a responsibility or duty to serve in the military. Their attitude, let someone else die for America.
I have served two tours in Vietnam courtesy of the USMC and have never felt more proud than to have served. My twin brother was there as well. Our older brother served in the Army and is equally proud to have served. He didn't serve in a combat zone but still had his name on the check promising to go if necessary.
My brother and I were probably 19 or 20 years old when we went to Vietnam. We both remember the local draft board sending mom letters that we had not registered for the draft and needed to get in ASAP to register or we were in violation of federal law. She received a few letters from them but didn't answer. Finally she received a phone call. That is how small the town was then. When somebody angrily asked her why her children felt they did not have to register for the draft, she explained that we both went into the Marine Corps at 17 years old, had not been home in a while and were now both in Vietnam. It has become a family joke for us. At this point, I don't recall either of us ever registering for the draft.
In Vietnam we both saw things that no human being should ever have to see. But that is part of war. People who have never been in the military joke about the idiots who do serve. I have heard them, been called an idiot for serving by my Boy Scout leader because we joined the military to serve our Country. That was the last time I ever saw the man and to this day have absolutely no respect for him.
I know I am rambling somewhat but please allow me to bring out one more point. Yes, we should respect our military personnel for serving to protect our country but let's not forget our people who serve here at home too, our law enforcement officers, corrections officers, firemen and other first responders. They are the people at home who also get to see things that nobody in the world should have to see. They also serve.
Thank you again for the video,
Dennis
Awesome video, my fingers speechless
A very moving few minutes and well worth watching the video. Thanks for sharing it. I have posted it on my Facebook page and also forwarded it to my son-in-law who served in Iraq as a medic with his National Guard unit.
