There are several Nikon speedlights that will work as a “Commander” to control other CLS-capable speedlights. The SB-600 is not one of them. Anything above that have that capability built in. You still have to have it connected to the flash shoe either directly or with a cord as DBQ49er pointed out.

forgive me, not sure what you mean by "anything above that". was the sb-500 made after the sb-600 ? cause I have used my sb-500 as a commander on the hot shoe with a sb-700 as a slave of camera. thank you. :-)

Godox are very good flashes, and they are less costly than Nikon. If you are not going to use it as a "professional" Then I don't think that the difference matters, but only you can decide. I have a Nikon flash and a Sigma for my Nikon, as well as a Neweer that I got for my Sony 6000 series.

The Neweer is just a rebranded Godox. For what I use it for it works great. I first bought a manual flash for my Sony on eBay, and I liked it so much that I bought a dedicated one, again from eBay. They work great

Yes, made after the 600.
I missed that one.
Never seen it before, thanks.
Looks interesting though for my use, 2 batteries aren’t going to cut it.
