In late January my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary by taking a trip into the Texas Hill Country in Blanco, Llano and Fredericksburg. I wanted to capture a different view of these locations - without the wildflowers that will eventually arrive in March.

The first three photos are in Blanco State Park in Blanco.
The next four photos are in Old Tunnel State Park in Kendall County south of Fredericksburg.
The last three photos are along the Willow City Loop north of Fredericksburg.

I plan to return to Willow City Loop to capture wildflowers such as the Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes and more. Additional stops will include Babyhead Cemetery on State Highway 16 between Llano and Cherokee, along State Highway 29 from Burnet west to Mason, among other locales.

Meanwhile, enjoy! I may add a few more in another post.

When you mentioned Fredericksburg, I thought of Fredericksburg, VA. I live very close to Fredericksburg, VA. I was scratching my head trying to figure out where Kendall county Virginia is. I then noticed the park is actually in Texas. Fredericksburg, VA is a quaint town with a lot of Civil War history. I went to a re-enactment of the 150th anniversary of the battle of Fredericksburg

Those are nice shots. That looks like a great park to visit for photography.

My daughter and I drove the Willow City Loop last spring. It is a beautiful drive with or without the wild flowers. You did a nice job capturing some of the views on the drive. If you haven't had the chance you should also look up the bluebonnet house just outside of Marble Falls. The Hill Country area is a wonderful place to shoot. Can't wait to go back again this spring.

Great set! Just like going home because I grew up in San Antonio and drives in the Hill Country were a Sunday regular. Keep the photos coming.

Beautiful set Warren. I've been to all these areas while visiting the Grandkids in Round Rock. Love Coopers in Llano. Fine work sir.

Will be on crossing the Blanco and Little Blanco on Thursday of this week. The drive down 16 from I-20 in
one of the best anywhere. Any time of year. And Cooper's Llano is the best BBQ anywhere.

Beautiful shots. Is there any information on the Old Tunnel? Your pictures raise the question.
