First reported this earlier in the year under the title Gone, but never forgotten.

Today he got his wish and some fine young men were remembered in a manner befitting their service.

He got his fly past today, a combination of U.S.A.F. & R.A.F. tacticals + some support craft.

The BBC ran an outside broadcast and delivered the breakfast show from the park with visiting representation from U.S.A.F. & R.A.F.

And the heroes were remembered. I hope it gets a show in the U.S.

Here is a link to the BBC page but I don't know if you'll be able to view it over the pond.

There may well have been a hog or two there to snap. If so, please add any shot you got.

A fitting tribute on this 75th anniversary to the pilot and crew members who flew away from civilians and sacrificed their lives to save others. Mahalo for sharing.

Yes, it is stupendous, thank you for posting!

At that same time I lived under the final flight approach path of aircraft being ferried to a major repair facility and just knew one day one would fall on my house. They were so close we could see the damage incurred in battle.

My wife showed it to me on on phone and it made my eyes water (a lot), especially being an AF vet.

What a great story. I'm so glad that gentleman got his wish; God bless him. Darn, I got something in my eyes already this morning!

Can't do anything but feel proud, grateful for his actions and thankful that there are are still people like him out there. A few tears and a prayer are all I can offer for all of them. Thank you for sharing.
