I attach photos from Havana, Cuba, taken on a recent cruise. There was an overnight stop in the port allowing more time than the usual cruise port stop to take photos. Under the current more stringent Treasury regulations, one is advised to take an approved group tour for people to people qualifying travel. This was, for me, a perfectly fine but over priced bus tour which had less educational content than a prior trip I made to Havana under the prior Administration. I hope the travel restrictions are relaxed in the future, as I find Havana a very interesting place. Enjoy this first set of photos.
Good set. Thanks for taking us there.
This just won Superb Composition. First time that I have won anything.

Thank you. It is a very different place--very close but worlds away.

Very nice series. I love the ‘55 Buick! It must be like going into a time warp.

Cuba just does not look like the 1950s; it IS the Fifties!
Great pictures!
Up until I was 10, I spent my summers in Cuba with my grand parents. From what I can remember it was a wonderful place, and the beaches were breathtaking!
The day Castro arrived in Havana, my mother, aunt, cousin, and I barely made it back to the U.S.
A week later Castro executed my uncle, and inprisoned my father for 30 years. I never saw my grandparents or father again. But I still have fond memories of the good times I spent there.
Fascinating Country. I must go there some time myself and take some shots.
Thank you for viewing the collection.

It is very much a time warp--but with the locals using cell phones!

It looks that way in places--but in the 1950s the buildings were maintained and many of them new. Now, much is in a state of decay. Though the old square area is being renovated extensively.
