Husband and I are excited to be going to England and Scotland in May. Do you have any suggestions about what to stop and see on the way from London to Scotland . We will probably take a train. My 18-300 lens will go with me.
Thanks

Not a great deal to see from the train, it travels from London to Edinburgh at fairly high speed. The real expert on Scotland is R.G. He lives there and posts many wonderful landscape shots of the lochs and glens on the Hog. I live about one hundred miles South of Edinburgh in Northumberland, and if you have transport, there are many extraordinary and photogenic places to visit. Depending on where you are based, public transport is not great.

The 18-300 lens is a good all round lens and will serve you well in our towns, villages and open countryside.

The more picturesque the area, the more it rains. Bring waterproofs/brolly.

Yes, the Train only stops at designated stations to let passengers on or off. But be sure to have your Camera ready when the train pulls into Durham station in Northern England, as the station overlooks the city and especially the Magnificent Norman Cathedral which holds St Bede's tomb.
