Is prime focus possible with a Meade DS.114 telescope ?

I have looked for a mount for a Canon EF camera to join a Meade "Starfinder DS.144" telescope. I have a few mounting parts and cannot find a way to use any combination to 1) get prime focus to work or 2) find a way to more fully fill the frame of a 70D.

Trying to use just a T-ring and the 1.25" adapter, I can't seem to get even close to in-focus. Using the extension and dropping in a 25mm plossal I can get pretty good focus but wondering if its possible to fill more of the frame. Higher power, non-plossal lenses give me even less frame filling ability.

Is cropping the only way to get a full frame of view ? I included a quick daylight shot (not exactly sharply in focus and through a dirty window) from today to give you an idea of the maximum fill area I am getting. Not sure if either of these questions show the limitation of the adapter/telescope/camera combination or if there is something I can do to improve the results. I realize the telescope is pretty old (about 25 years old) and not great quality. Just looking to be able to shoot what I have been looking at for 35 years !

Thanks for any help you can lend.

PreciseParts can build you an custom adapter for your specific back focus requirement. Check out their web site they have a neat build it tool.
Good luck,

Thanks Tony - will check them out. So you would expect frame-filling image is possible ?

With the correct bacfocus I would think yes.
