yester years

I was thing of my pass after responding to Sarge's fourm
on being drug and I was wondering how many of us would
like to share a time in their life where being discipline by our parents made a different in their life.
I recall like it ws yesterday when at seven years of age, I
was passing next to my older brother's house, when I heard
water running in the kitchen window. Having a good friend of
mine walking with me, I had him give me a lift at the window
to see where the noise was coming from. As I look into the window I saw that my brother had left the water running,
and he had left for work. So I opened the screen on the window and clamb into the house to turn off the water.
At this same time I heard my moma talking to my friend
out side the window and before I knew it she was heading to
an old willow tree, and in ontime flat she was right there waiting
for me, I tried telling her what I was doing, but my cry landed
upon deft ears. I had no reason being there and that was IT.
Next time I learned my lesson,STAY AWAY FROM RUNNING
WATERS.

Most feared words in the English language were "Go cut a switch!"

Not today. Kids are told that they are getting a time out.
Being sent to your room today is like being sent to the playground with the T.V.s and i pads, game boys and the likes.

Remember the old saying" Just wait until your
daddy gets home"? That's when I knew I was in far
it.

I told my wife that she was not to use that saying on our kids. I did not want them afraid of me when I got home. She could tell me about what went wrong without making them afraid of me and then I would deal with the problem.

We had 10 kids in the family,5 boys and 5 girl
and there weren't that many times our mother had
to tell us to do anything more then twice. We grew
up knowing that the choices we made were our choices
but with that choice also came some consequence,if
chose to do right, you were rewared, if you chose
to do wrong, you were then punished.

I'm sure your parents were like mine's, they couldn't
supply all of my wants, but always found a way to
supply of of my needs. Even though my needs may
not have been in the condition I would have like
them to have been, they were still supplyed, and for
not being able to supply all of my wants, like many
parents do today to their kids, I believe I am a better
person because of it.
