Heated Hummingbird Feeder

We had the first real snow here in the Seattle area last night, continuing this morning. I hang electric boot heaters under the feeder when the temperature drops, and the Hummingbirds are hanging around more than usual today! Just a snapshot for those who enjoy supporting Hummingbirds through the winter.

The birds thank you. I'm jealous, we don't have hummingbirds around here in the winter.

Full disclosure:

We have two feeders. This is a snapshot of the second one before snow removal and thawing. It would only have appealed to Hummers with long, woodpecker-like beaks.

Great idea and very good and thoughtful of you to care for these lovely little birds.

I thought all hummingbirds went south for winter. Great idea I'm sure the hummers enjoy a warm meal.
