I'm currently photoshooting air shows with my Nikon D810 & Nikkor 80-400mm. Wishing for more reach, I'm looking at the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2, the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports and the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports. Which one would you pick and why?

I'd say rent and evaluate.

Shooting an airshow is both an art and a sport.

If you decide based on specs alone, you have a good chance of missing the lens that FEELS right. That will cost you shots right out of the box and even more as a long afternoon on the tarmac wears you down.

A golfer won't choose a putter based on the specs, but how it feels and fits in their hands.

Give yourself the best chance at the decision that is right for YOU.

The Sigma Sport is too heavy and rugged for your application. The Sigma Contemporary is much lighter and would do a good job. You may consider the Nikon 200-500 with a 2X extender. I own all three lenses, the Sport is Canon EF mount, and have 1.4 X and 2 X Nikon and Sigma extenders. My preference is the Nikon 200-500 coupled to the Nikon 1.4 extender mounted to my D500. That the equivalent of 1050 mm of reach. My favorite combo is my Sigma Sport with Sigma 1.4 extender on my EOS 5DSr plus a 50% crop giving me the equivalent of close to 1700 mm of reach.
