I too have an Olympus. Aren’t they wonderful for such color?

Yes. It was a good move for me. I am amazed by the versatility and dimension my OMD's have brought to my photography. Also, features I could never get from my DSLR's. I am really looking hard at the new OMD E MX. I really don't need one but prolly really gonna want one. Thanks for taking a look :)

Excellent shots, Frankie. The flash definitely gave it a 'lift'.

Very nice pair. I'm envious that you got your orchid to bloom again.

Beautiful orchid, Frankie, and beautiful shots! Especially like the clarity rendered by the bounce flash. And lucky you getting a second bloom from your orchid! I manage to kill mine before they have a chance to bloom again.

Thank you :) I been waiting a long time for this one to bloom again. The old stalks were all brown so I clipped em off. Now it is growing a bunch of stalks. Finely some flowers. I have another (Don't know if you remember the green one (that was the first)). I got 3 blooms from that one. I am waiting patiently for the fourth. It's starting to show some promise. You have to understand I know nothing bout raising orchids. I have read articles (which really contradict one another a lot). I just keep watering like once a week and keep them in the window sill. Yep the flash adds some punch. I have a bunch more photo's using different lenses and different angles and lighting. I even played with some focus stacking. Table top photography keeps me working on techniques when weather of lack of events keeps me in the house. Getting that little nib thingy in perfect focus is and interesting challenge. ANYWAYS, thanks for taking a look. I appreciate it always. Enjoy the day.

Thanks so much, Frankie! I guess there's hope for me, since your orchids are thriving in spite of the fact that you know nothing about raising them. I'll try again.

Donna, I've never had orchids (which the ones being shown are gorgeous) but was given 2 plants 2 years ago and I've managed to kill a lot of plants, but one thing I try to tell myself with the orchids is don't over water, they only need a very small amount and so far I've managed to keep both plants alive and had blooms and then blooms again (which always amazes me) Hang in there, I know you can do it

LOL.... guess, judging from the other post you got about orchids maybe I should share a little more help. Orchids don't grow in dirt. It's more like gravel. when you buy em they come in a perforated container and that is in a solid outer container. Mine are in like plastic cups. I have thought about it but never re-planted them of added orchid food (one thing i read said that was not really needed). Anywho, you water them with warm/room temp water. You let them drain. So out of the solid container and only water it in the perforated container. Drain them before you put them back in the solid/decorative container. They don't like cold and they don't like hot. So room temp water and window sills kinda work good. Subtle light (not direct sunlight). So much for I don't know nothing bout orchids. Good luck, have fun. When you take their picture, they don't seem to take posing instructions very well. you gottsa kinda push them where you wants em :)

Thanks so much for the info and vote of confidence, Debbie. When I stop freezing I'm going to shop for an orchid that looks like it's hardy enough to live with me.

Thank you so much, Frankie! LOL I'm taking your advice, and I'm definitely going to try again. For some reason mine have all died after blooming... one big, beautiful leaf at a time. I'm either not watering enough or watering too much, or they're not getting the 'right' kind of light. Oh, and you're absolutely right. They do not like to pose.
