Just before Christmas I lost a very dear friend who lived in West Palm Beach and traveled the world putting on the Trade Show for Pratt & Whitney Engines. I was looking at His saved folder and ran across this just this morning. I'm sure a lot of you "hoggers" will enjoy this link that He sent me a few years back. Be sure and turn up the sound!! Enjoy.

I always dreamed of being a pilot from the time I read about the Flying Tigers when I was in the 7th grade, but never made it. Almost made it as a Navigator on B-52's in 1961, but missed passing the test by 1 point, so I wound up in the Army repairing Nike Hercules Guided Missiles. I was born in 1943, and as all my uncles were in WWII and I almost lost my Dad while He was testing instruments on the first B-17 during test flights at Wright Patterson AFB I have always had a love for these Aircraft and the Guys who flew them; watching a video like this at Duxford always chokes me up. The site of soo many of them together at the same time and the sound of those engines is amazing!

P-51’s and British Spitfires generally take the show at those things. They’re so pleasing to the eye. They look like they’re going 400 knots, while still sitting on runway.

That was wonderful; thank you for sharing and my sincere condolences for the loss of your friend... my uncle was a gunner on a bomber in wwii...never would talk about it. Our colonel in our high school rotc program flew missions in Vietnam as an in flight refueler. My uncle was killed in Okinawa by a suicide plane...these birds have special significance for me. Growing up, the Naval base a mile from my house, flew vigilantes over our house and school...several times a day...it was something to see! I always love to see the air shows and always feel just a little closer to my personal heroes. Thank you for posting this great video.

To all the "Hoggers" who are looking at this video I just want to say, "I am soo glad so many are looking and enjoying it". If anyone ever wants to see a great airshow here in the U.S.A., try to make it to "Thunder Over Michigan". It usually is in August every year and They always fly a lot of WWII Aircraft along with a lot on display and a mock German/US Infantry ground battle. They really put on a great show with either the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels as the last act.
