Snow Geese

We anxiously await the arrival of the snow geese every January. Wish I could attach a video so you could hear the really loud noise they make. Really a beautiful sight. And with the snow geese come the eagles. The last photo shows an eagle flying toward the snow geese. The eagles have a feast during this time.

Wow! One thing I've always wondered about birds: what happens to their bodies when they die? We see millions of birds flying around, and all of them die, but I can't remember seeing many corpses - except for road kill. Maybe there's a great bird graveyard where they all head when they feel the end growing near. : )

i would think the bodies are eaten by other critters...............we are all food for something.

We have lots of eagles, hawks, and vultures that clean up the fallen.

I am also interested in where these were shot. Could it be Mingo Wildlife area?

These are at a lake just south of Dexter, MO at a beautiful lake called Otter Slough. We love going there for wildlife photos.

These were taken at a lake just south of Dexter, MO called Otter Slough. Love going there to photograph wildlife. We also love going to Mingo and also nearby Duck Creek.
