The moon, when not in eclipse, is very bright, so ISO 100 works. You were shooting 1 Sec at f7.1. Could be you got a tiny bit of motion blur, but it's not visible at normal viewing distance. However as food for thought, you might have been able to trade some of that f-stop for a faster shutter speed.
Thanks but I tried faster shutter speeds on many other shots and they basically the same. It was so cold outside I didn't take the time to test other ISOs which I believe would have given me more detail in the shadow area. Also my tripod didn't tilt at almost a 90 degree angle (moon was high in sky) so I used the tripod to stabilize my hand holding method. I also tried several apertures while shooting. None made a difference.
