Like this "dark side" take very much.
I wasn't there (am I ever?) but right away I noticed halo effects around the vertical rock elements. I won't speak for you, but in similar cases I've tried, that kind of thing can show up in PP. Perhaps just my bad.
You're quite correct/accurate in noticing an apparent halo effect, and when I see these in images (mine or other's) I find them on the one hand obvious signs of misguided processing and on the other easily corrected. In this particular instance, though, while the processing I did on this image did indeed accentuate the halo/glow, it was there in actuality so I saw no reason to diminish the effect. There was quite a lot of low-laying moisture --not quite fog and not quite mist-- as a result of evaporating snow (snow tends not to melt at this elevation as much as it simply evaporates), and the very brightly lit sun-side of the rocks reflected light into the moisture that surrounded it, falling off in a glow-like condition as rays were scattered and absorbed. Its not a common set of circumstances around here, but it happens from time to time.
