I've been taking a lot of photos over the past couple of years and I think I'm improving. looking for honest feedback so I can get better. I'm using a Canon 50D and I have a 28-135mm, 70-300mm and a 17-40mmL, all with polorizing filters. I use Fotoflexer, Picnik and Photoshop. Let the critiquing begin.

The rope picture is very sharp... and the reflection of the fall trees is simply beautiful.. Sunsets are my favorite... The color is breathtaking. Very nicely exposed.. Great composition on all.. Nice, Nice, Nice! Keepers!

If you want critiques, you've come to the right place ;-).

Having said that, I don't have much to comment on with your photos except on #2 I'd crop off some of the water at the bottom for a more symmetrical panorama look. On #3 I would take off all of the boat at the bottom because it looks just a bit cluttered there.

Great exposures, sharp as a tack, and straight & level. You ply your craft well and use your camera as a surgeon uses a scalpel.

Post more soon,

Eric

I'm partial to number 2. The reflections are so crisp. When I first saw number two I thought it was the head of an African spear.

See it?

Cool.

Thanks a lot for all the comments. I love looking for the next great shot. Fall is always a good time for photos because of the colors and you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to get sunrise shots.

I'll post more soon. Look forward to learning more from all of you.

Look for the Fall Color thread and post some of your color shots there.

I like all three..not sure about cropping the boat as suggested by Eric..I think the boat acts as an anchor for the image..

I love the simple shots such as the rope.
Fall in Westchester NY is a beautiful reflection shot. If time allowed maybe have something such as a small boat or even a bird on the left side with the blue water. Nothing more than just a suggestion.

These are great. All I can say is that I recommend, when shooting reflective water surfaces, is try to include something sticking out in the foreground to ground the image.
