Nice. I have the 18-300mm Contemporary on my D3200 and love it.

I have a couple of Sigma lenses and love both. A 10-20mm and a 24-70mm, my most used lens.

I read many reviews about the lens but in the end I went with the Tamron 150-600 g2 series lens. so far the lens is working out great for me. I do need to take time to fine tune the autofocus at the longer shoots. You will need to take the time and do the same. Tamron is great since they come with a tap in system to do it or you could still just do it through the camera settings if your camera supports those.

Looking forward to seeing more shoots from it.

I started using Sigma lenses with a wide angle lense in the 1980s and really loved the results.i own more Sigma lenses then Nikons. Just got and tested a Sigma 17 to 70 macro zoom and their ultra wide angle 10-20 is my go to favorite landscape lense. The 14 F1.8 is my astrophotography favorite. I also have the 150 to 600 contemporary and love it.

I've got the Tamron version (G2) that I bought a little over a year ago -also Nikon mount - after getting both Nikon 200-500 and 600 from NPS to play with. I really liked the 200-500 but for about the same $$$ the Tamron has a longer reach and I'm very pleased with it.

There is little point in putting a lens like the Sigma 150-600 on a camera which does not have fine focus adjust. did you use the tap in console?

IMHO....there is little point in investing in a lens that HISTORICALLY requires a USB focusing dock, or tap-in console. Nikon lenses, like the 200-500, pretty much focus accurately right out of the box.

Well large bob your experience does not tie with mine....My N 200-500 needs +8 for perfection and would be substantially inferior at 0 on the D850.

You don't need a dock you can just use the lens out the box and set the fine focus the old way.In fact I abandoned the dock with my Tam 100-400 and just use it at +6 on a 7200

I prefer a Nikon lens on my Nikon body. My favorite is the Nikon 200-500 lens. The photo is of a snowy egret catching a minnow. Hand held panned shot. Has not been to lightroom yet.

I agree but I got such a deal on this one I could not refuse. This is the first non-Nikon i have ever bought.
