We came across this pride of lions. They were on the hunt. The only light I had was the spot used by the tracker from the front of the vehicle. I was at the back. The 3rd pic says it's all fun and games till someone gets hurt. No one got hurt. The last shot I took while scared spitless. This lioness was walking beside our vehicle. I started taking pictures when she got within 10-12 feet of me. She heard the click of the lens, stopped and looked right at me. Not supposed to happen. I took one more but I was too scared to compose it. That is the last shot. After a few seconds, she moved on and we all breathed a sigh of relief. All shots were taken with a Canon 70D, Tamron 18-400 at ISO 6400.
Very nice! I'll bet that made your whole trip worthwhile.

Wow! Some great lion images taken at night.
WOW!!! Great photos and an even better story. #4 captures your story as the lioness is looking directly at you. Mahalo for sharing your photos and story with us.
That look of concentration captured in #2 is outstanding.
Great shots, thanks for sharing.
