I am just asking for any info on a good place to rent lenses.
If you are in Southern California Sammy's Camera has several locations which rent lens for a better price especially if you pick them up. Especially good for weekend rentals which they are only charge for a single day.
Aperturerent.com worked well for me 2 times.
No Tiffin Ohio look to get ahead and get my order in before the big warbler migration in May up at Magee Marsh
Thank you all for the replies.
Get to know Lens Rental. They are easy
to do business with, dependable in their
dealings, knowledgeable about
photo equipment. I have rented several
lens from them to use on longer trips
(Alaska, Canada, Maine etc) The lens are
at a FedEx “store” at the nearest city,
like new and on time. Great variety of
photo equip available Call them; You’ll
be glad you did. Ted Evans
I used BorrowLenses. I didn't know about LensRental, but was very pleased with Borrow Lenses. I will say that they didn't have a camera I wanted to try, but I couldn't expect them to carry every lens or camera on the market.
I have found that LensRental has more Pentax equipment than most others places.
I'm all for renting before buying. I bought a full mirrorless setup...camera and 3 lenses before finding I hated the camera. I've still got the 3 lenses to try to sell. That was the camera that they had out on loan before I bought the set up. It's possible the different rental companies "specialize" in different brands so they don't overlap.
UPDATE
I rented the nikon 500mm pf lens from borrowlenese for The Biggest Week at Magee Marsh. Used it on a D500 body sharp photos but the bokeh looked kind of funny to me but I had lots of fun.
Thank you.
