Glacier National Park

This was taken on a breezy day as you can see from the chop on Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park. It took an hour or so to drive to this part of the park from Many Glacier area. The breeze actually was welcomed as it cleared away the smoke from forrest fires that were burning in the Lake McDonald area of the park in the first part of September, 2018. The scene lent itself to black and white interpretation.

I really like this photo, especially in DL, and it does lend itself to B&W! If I can make one small suggestion, it would be to change the white balance and/or increase the brightness. This would give the whole image a bit more tonal range/contrast.

Very engaging. The choppy water gives me a chill. I appreciate that you didn't enhance the clouds; they are nicely muted so they don't overpower the rest. Having said that, I could see value in a bit more light on the driftwood, though not really needed - and maybe your computer version is brighter than what UHH shows anyway.

Thoughtfully composed, beautifully edited.

This is a very nice image. I also would like for the sky and clouds to balance more equally with the tree trunk in the foreground. Not sure how you handled the sky. If you used a polarizer, it would be interesting to see what an orange filter would have done in comparison.

Thanks for the feedback. I did bump up the contrast when I processed the image. I'm wondering if this is a monitor vs monitor issue as on my Apple Macbook the range looks ok although there is no pure white anywhere but the histogram is has values across the whole range.

I did quite a lot of dodging on that piece of driftwood for contrast purposes. I actually thought I might have pushed it too far. I too agree that the monitor has a big impact on the image.
