Two quick ones I grabbed on a nice clear breezy evening in Halden, Norway at midnight New Years 2019
So nice!. I sometimes have to do fireworks for my newspaper and am not too successful. What settings do you use
It's an interesting question because I googled the settings and... most articles will say native ISO (100), f/8-11 and a variety of timing including the Bulb mode.
After 5 minutes of frustration I immediately went to f/4 and continued to use the "Bulb" mode. I think the ISO and the sensor of the Canon MK4 did a good job eliminating any noise but the recommended f/8 was so far off.
This could be a good argument for the people who insist on ETTR. There is an abundance of information in the shadows that has more value with digital sensors vs film in my opinion. If you zoom in, the detail and color of the jackets on the people show and I was a about a mile away. I was very happy with the results. I generally shoot a bit left on exposure because of that fact.
