Very nice the way you framed the lone car.

Seems to me the upper structures are all pointing upwards - directing the eye up and out of the frame. Also, darkening the upper sections adds visual weight that ‘feels’ unsupported by the delicate window panes above the door. In short, if the door is the subject, then including ancillary parts and pieces are simply distractions.
Frankly, it’s a tough shot. You’ve done well but, perhaps, dodging the upper portion- instead of making it darker (either in PP or, actuality) making it lighter and less significant, less contrast and less competitive to the door… just an idea…

This question may be a matter of aesthetics and so will necessarily be subjective. Fine; feel free to comment, and I know it is all what we choose to frame and process any image as we wish. That said, my question concerns all the inclusion above the door. My feeling is that the windows and structure holds the vision of the viewer downward thereby directing the line of sight through the door to the grounds. So, is the framing of the shot wrong for you. And does this approach compositionally and aesthetically defective?
