I have aquired a Canon 300EZ Speedlite. I have a Canon EOS 50D. I usually shoot outdoors, the onboard flash on my camera has filled the bill as for now. I would like to try flash photography, I'm hesitant to use the 300EZ since it is old, but in new condition. The instruction manual (on Page 113) says it can be used, but only at full output only. I'm not really sure what that means. I've searched the UHH, and really don't find a answer to my question about the speedlite. Will this speedlite fry my camera in any way? If I continue to persue flash photography, I'll look into 430EX II, or better. I also want to know what the meaning of " do not connect to the cameras PC terminal any flash unit requiring 250V or more." And "do not connect a high voltage flash unit to the cameras hot shoe" How do I know if the flash unit requires 250V or more? If the flash unit is a high voltage flash unit?
Thanks
It's the triggering that is refered to. If you use the wrong flash you could damage the camera. If you arte not sure don't use the flash.
Wein makes an attachment that will protect the camera, it's $50. Probably better to invest the money in a new flash.
