Has anyone come up with a prop or device so the driver can shoot out the passenger window?
They might come up with something for the passenger but not the driver.
yes! I call it: a spouse. Sometimes just, passenger.

I have a clamp and tabletop tripod that clamps easily onto a car window partly open. From film days... I've seen then on ebay from time to time at less than a Jackson.

Wow! That's some serious gear! Had no idea such things were available now.

Search B & H for camera rest for car window - about 3 came up. Pretty much a clamp with tripod ball head. I just use a folded towel or a bean bag.
Why don't they shoot out the front window instead of shooting out the passenger window! Or they could try shooting the glove compartment or the passenger in the back seat? I don't carry a gun any longer, because guns take too many lives.
Just jiv'n whith you!
The small gray tubular pipe insulation works great. Extremely cheap, too.
GoPro and interval shooting or even video. I'd hate to be riding in a car with a driver who was taking pictures out the passenger's window. Regardless of the road, the car will be bumpy and vibrating, and so will the camera.
This mount looks good, but not when the car is moving. I wouldn't use a mount that attached to the window glass, and I'd want something large and rubber coming in contact with the door. Below is a modified Ekla Eagle

I use elbow pads, I prop my elbows on top of the door window frame (window all the way down of course) and shoot away. Works for me.
I have a voice activated control unit that responds to simple commands like up , down etc with reasonable accuracy . The accuracy does reduce when she is tired , hungry or just being awkward for the sake to it.
