I will be shooting school pictures on a green screen anyone have any recommendations for a lab that will do cut-outs how about ordering on line, I really need some help in this area. I have not done any online ordering in the past, but if it works I can use it for sports photography as well. Will the company that does the cut out also merge the image with a backdrop. Anyone that has experience with this --- suggestions and help are welcome. Thanks for any help

I have no recommendation on services, but I think it should be pretty easy to select the subject out of a green screen background using PS - perhaps with the Select - Color Range Command, then add a background with File - Place Embedded.

If you use a gray background you can cut out the image without worrying about the green color cast from doing it 'green screen'

There are programs you can use on Windows, not sure about Mac, that will cut the image off green or blue backgrounds and insert a background of your choosing. Works really well, as I used it for hundreds of portraits sessions.

36Pix.com

Google ‘school portrait labs’ or ‘school portrait photofinishers’.

Know that Lifetouch NSS and the other big companies have their own, extremely advanced, proprietary systems to do this, and have 10-12 years of experience with it.

LNSS doesn’t even use a colored background, but they do it anyway...

Do it yourself with a Chroma Key Green Backdrop and Green Screen Wizard software and Photobacks digital backgrounds.

The trick to green screen cutouts is to get the lighting on the screen very even, then do not have your subject stand too close as they will pickup a hue. Blue screens will also work. Chroma Key backdrop is a good tool. Also make sure the lighting on the subject is even and that they are NOT wearing green.

Go to www.greenscreenwizard.com he has videos to show you how. I use it for my event photography, Novelty Photo Booth. I use all types of back drops and temples. I been using it for over 15 years. Ever one that that has a camera should have this in there tool box like shot shop.

To be honest pictures are not too demanding. Green screen for video is where you need to go the extra mile.
