We even have a second, one-cup Keurig for travel. Not as good as Peet's made in a French press, but quite satisfactory when meeting the day. We're on our second big unit when the first expired after about 10 years.

Yes, that is a sometimes problem. We have to watch the level and add more or shut it off before it overflows. Or, it might work perfectly.

I've found these to be very good refillables.

I really enjoy Keurig, especially at work before I retired. No one had to take the last cup (make a new pot) and it is always fresh.

But I am picky on coffee -- dark roasts but not all dark roasts. Starbucks French Roast or Cafe Verona beans and cups, Green Mountain Dark Magic, Kirtland (Costco) Pacific Bolt, Barrista French Roast cups -- also the Dark Hot Chocolate. There are probably a few more, but I have not had the need to expand. I have eliminated some that I do not care for.

For cups, there is a wide variety of brands and beans in each roast (Light, Medium, and Dark) plus flavored for those who don't like it straight.

I get the cups when price is .50 or less per cup.

There is no universal best answer, but Keurig options cover a lot of bases.

Computer, UHH, and Keurig - that's how I start my day. After more than ten years, the ON/OFF switch on the Keurig is becoming temperamental. Two days ago, Amazon had a one-day sale on the basic Keurig - $60. It will arrive today. I use refillable K-cups, so each cup cost just a few cents.

Jerry, I’ve had problems with the Keurig shutting off prematurely. I read somewhere that if you unplug it for an hour (might be less but I do it for an hour,) it resets the unit. Replaced it twice before I found out about that trick.

Question. How much coffee do you put in the refillable cups?

Try Lavazza. Great coffee.

We still use our B&D coffeenaker- I get two cups, hubby gets 4 cups eveey morning. Don't need a single cupper. But daughter has a Keurig and it's nice to be able to brew just my two cups when they've already gone to work.

They have a line you fill them to.

Jerry, my day starts exactly the same way. I have a four old basic Keurig and it's still going strong. At first I didn't like the coffee because it wasn't hot enough and the flavor didn't seem right. Then tried a tip I read online: run a cup of plain water (using the smallest serving button) through it, pour it out and then immediately make your cup of coffee. The coffee is hotter and tastier this way as just running it once does not get the water hot enough to extract all the flavor from the coffee.

I fill them to near the top. I think they all have a line indicating the Full mark. You have to allow enough room for the top to close because they all have some kind of protuberance that goes into the grounds.

I use Lavazza in the espresso machine.

Thank you. I tried it once, filled it to the top and it backed up. I knew I did something wrong.

Thanks Jerry.
No espresso for me. Only cappuccino.

I have and use a Keurig. I also use K-cups which I fill with my own coffee. The one problem that I have is that the coffee is not sufficiently hot so I have to heat it further in the microwave. I complained to Keurig so they sent me a new unit. Same problem, so I just keep warming it up after brewing.

One advantage beyond price of using the k-cups is that I can adjust the strength to my liking.
