New Nikons

New cameras came out / are coming out (D3500-D760)(Z6,Z7) and maybe i missed one or two others. Nikons flagships have been out for ? 2 ? years. I'm not sure how to find out about when new cameras might be coming out, but would like to know if there might be a time frame (soon or later) that Nikon may have a new D500 <--- or D5. thanks all.

There already is a D5. Latest is D6 will be coming out next year.

Sadly, Nikon doesn't really give us a timetable - we can only go by past releases, and that's not always reliable. As mentioned, Nikon Rumors is the place to monitor.

yes i knew D5 was out as mentioned. was wondering about next new model. as you said D6 next year. thank you. also more interested in D500, but thank you again.

I'm waiting to see what's announced at the upcoming CES show Jan.7-9 2019. I hope they announce the D760.

If you follow Nikon you will note that camera bodies are introduced about every two or three years. The tip off is when they put the previous model on sale, like the current D750. Nikon usually announces new camera's at major trade shows. Usually, not always, in the spring when photographers are coming out of winter hibernation.
If a camera is selling really well, Nikon will sometimes wait, but most camera manufactures, Canon, Nikon, and Sony know that new models sell, so I believe they will all stick to their current schedules.

There is a lot of debate whether Nikon should release a new DSLR because the future is mirrorless and they have 2 Ff cameras in the market. An APS-C model makes more sense since there is no mirrorless offering from Nikon.

The best news about the new cameras is that the previous model is now cheaper.

I know that debate has happened on various forums, Nikon though isn't part of the debate. They are releasing at least one new DSLR next year.
