After a tough summer, Salt River's wild horses are thriving on new winter grasses. I've been trying to experiment a bit with some slightly more "arty" shots . . . I'd really appreciate your comments. I'm trying to shoot some that perhaps make you take a second look. Thanks for your time.

It's no wonder. They're beautifully wild and you have caught that wonderfully in your photos. jak

Really great shots. The first one works for me, but there will be some that will find the dead stick too distracting. I personally think a wild horse would even use a stick like that to show as little of himself as possible and, therefore, find the stick as a part of your interaction with the horse. And I like your #2 cropping better than #5. #2 just seem stronger. And that is a great action shot in #3 and #4 (I think they may be the same by accident). They are all great shots such that most anyone would love to claim as theirs.

I love them all but particularly the first one. You are so lucky to be able to see them.

I thought the horse hiding behind the branch expressed more of a “wildness”than a clear shot of his entire face so I especially appreciate your comment. And thanks too for the cropping comment on 2 and 5. I preferred 2, my daughter chose 5 so now I’ll stick with my first choice!

Three and four are duplicates. I don’t know what I did wrong. It never indicated that they had uploaded so I sent a second time. Unfortunately once they popped up, I didn’t know how to delete the second one!

Thanks again for taking time to comment.
