Nik free software. Link?
I had a computer crash and lost the NIK programs.
Can't seem to find the link for the free download.
Can someone tell me where it is.
Maybe it is no longer free. ??
Google sold it to DXO, so the free download from Google probably doesn't exist anymore.
Someone said today, it now costs about $60
What might the rules be for sharing an installation file from the Google free version? Could I put it on DropBox? Would that be ethical?

To me you would be replacing (re-installing) an older "pre-change" software. Nothing wrong with that. I've re-install software on new computers. (Norton, for example, would have to be "transferred" as Norton keeps track of installations.)
I'm guessing the new owner may not support the old version, and an older link to a web location probably will not work anymore.
However I'm guessing the WHOLE old installation file probably will work.

Check your 'Download' folder. Unless you are a 'neat freak' about clearing out old files the original installation file might still be there.

Thanks bsprague, It worked fine.
I lost Nik software when I upgraded to cc2019. When I looked in the Adobe folder in Applications I saw that I still had the older versions of cc still there. I went to the 2018 folder and went to plugins and the Nik software was still there. I copied and pasted it into the cc2019 Adobe plug-ins folder and hey presto it worked. Might be. Worth a look.
I bought the original version years ago. When I got a new computer they gave me a link to re download it for free. It connected with both Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic. After subsequent upgrade they made to Photoshop CC, it does not recognize Nik anymore but I can still get it via Lightroom Classic

When I upgraded to the latest PS NIK transferred without a problem. You may have to copy the files from the previous version of PS
I've drifted away from using NIK much. As soon as I feel a need to get back to it, I will gladly give them the $49.
