Photoshop CC Problem

Hi Group,
Yesterday I downloaded PS CC 2019 after letting my subscription go about a year ago. Over the last year when using PSE 15 or PS CS3 I can adjust a text box up and down without changing the width of the text (box). With this new CC version when I "drag" the up and down "pull points" the text box also automatically gets wider or narrower based on my up and down adjustments. I know I've got some setup box clicked (or unclicked) that's causing my problem. I spent most of yesterday afternoon and a couple hours this morning looking for the answer. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Take care & ...

Hi Group, br Yesterday I downloaded PS CC 2019 aft... (show quote)

They reversed the tool, so now by default it keeps proportions, pressing shift while dragging will allow free transform.

Didn't read enough to know if there is a setting to change behavior

Hope this solves it for you :)

You are welcome.
I downloaded 2019 already but haven't used it yet...........so probably you saved me some frustration by finding this in advance :)

Hi juan uv,
I just read the whole section and I decided to use the "shift + left-mouse key" to free transform the text window. If I (or you) want to change that feature permanent, you have to write a short section of text as defined by Adobe, save it as a ".txt file," and insert it into the proper section of the Program files on your C: drive. Like I said, I'll just press the darned shift key. Thanks again for your answer. Take care & ...

Great, thanks for summarizing that for me :)
I guess I will do the same as you.......although it may take some time to get used to it, I even think it makes more sense as I usually want to keep proportions

Am I understanding the OP correctly? When moving a text box in PSE 15 I grab the center cross and move it without any changes to it. The up and down arrows change the size of the box. As far as I can remember it has always been that way. You may have to enlarge the view to find the center cross on some boxes.
