After visiting Sedona many, many times in the Fall, I decided to keep track of the winter weather and drive up when there was a good chance of snow on the red rocks. This was taken last winter and is my favorite because of the white snow on the red rocks, the dark clouds and the inclusion of an iconic landmark - the Chapel of the Holy Cross which is the light colored building in the right third of the photo. It was constructed in 1956 and in 1957 the American Institute of Architects awarded it their Award of Honor. It is a Catholic church but is open daily to everyone and is one of the most popular attractions in Sedona.
We'll be in Phoenix for Christmas and plan to drive to Sedona for a day. Thank you for the heads up; I knew it would be cooler there but didn't consider snow as an option. Great shot!
Great capture. One of the best landscapes of this area that I've seen. Keeping shooting....
Masterful work. Gorgeous!
Wonderful photo! Great idea to get the contrast between snow and rock.
Outstanding. Nice composition with perfect exposure.
Amazing photo makes me miss living in AZ when I was a kid fresh from CA. LOL

Nice capture, Shaun. Kinda makes the red rocks look like a distinguished gentleman starting to go grey at the temples.
