I actually posted this due to the crow post in the last couple of days. Hopefully you know that the colloquial term for a group of crows is "A murder of crows?"

Yes I do know the term, but still wonder why anyone would tack that name on crows.

Maybe due to the fact that crows are not opposed to being carnivores. They can be very aggressive predators.
