This is the last post of our fall colors drive of 14 hours and 492 miles. The first photos were taken with my Canon 80D and EF-S 18-135 lens, the last four with my Canon SX40 HS in late June 2014. The last four are included to show how Tuolumne Meadows looks when it is green. Tuolumne Meadows is at about 8,600 feet of altitude and is a very special place, almost spiritual.
The first two photos are taken looking first west, then east from near the same spot. Tenaya Lake is about 4 miles from where the first two photos were taken. Olmsted Point is about two miles from Tenaya Lake and gives a view of Half Dome that you only get if you venture to Upper Yosemite from Yosemite Valley. The fifth photo (Half Dome) was a challenge due to shooting to the west in the late afternoon. I love to wander out into Tuolumne Meadows to the Tuolumne River and just "take it all in." The last photo was taken from about 2/3 of the way up on the Lembert Dome and gives you an idea of the grandeur of Tuolumne Meadows. The hike up the dome isn't too difficult and worth it (IMHO) for the view. I'm looking forward to going back to Tuolumne Meadows with my 80D when the road re-opens around June.
I hope you enjoyed the series.

Very nice series. Brings back many memories of our annual family camping trips at Tuolumne Meadows for many, many years.
As teenagers, a buddy of mine who came with us one year, hiked UP Lembert dome on the trail. (You are right, what a view!) Thought it would be "fun" to find our own way down. When we stumbled into camp hours late, boy were we in trouble. Almost did not make it back safely.
As of today, your beautiful sunny landscapes are blanketed in about 2+ feet of snow...finally.

Thank you for the kind comments HardwareGuy. We've never camped at Tuolumne Meadows, but I can imagine how beautiful it is, especially the evening sky. We have camped dozens of times at Pinecrest, which isn't too far away. I would love to see Tuolumne Meadows with the snow.

Thank you again Bob. Many people visit Yosemite and never get out of Yosemite Valley, which is spectacular. However, upper Yosemite is spectacular in a different way and very special too.
Thank you phv; I'm glad you enjoyed it.
