My wife and I took a vacation to the American Southwest in September. Here are some photos of Colorado taken September 21st through September 25. Photos of Utah, Arizona and Route 66 will follow.
Yes, I was sunburned in photo #1.
The Aspens hadn't quite hit peak in Rocky Mountain National Park but b the time we got to Maroon Bells they were ablazing.
We caught the elk during the rutting season. Hearing the elk bugling for the first time was way cool. We thought it sounded like a baby screaming but much louder (and shocking).

Aspen were changing and not as many tourists. I like the bull
elk, wish I could hear him bugling. Colorado is waiting for

Glad you were able to get to Maroon Bells. Info I received was that the shore line of the lake was blocked off and access was restricted! Very good photos.
