I think I have taken more Orion and Andromeda images than I have pics of my own kids....at least that is my wife's perspective.
Well - it was there and I had a short night. The moon was full and following Orion through the imaging session and the effects of the moon's light are undeniable...but t'was fun doing it.
60, 20 second Red, Green, and Blue ....I also added 100, 10 second Luminosity frames. Supporting frames 20 darks, 100 bias, and 50 flats for each filter (200 total flats)
Asi1600MM-C camera cooled to -30 - astronomik 6nm filters.
I have gotten an order for 30 prints of different deep space and solar/lunar stuff to be hung in a new middle school. Fairforest Middle School will open in the Fall. They will have a planetarium (seat 700 and an observatory) so the prints will be on the hall walls and in the planetarium. BTW, as old as I am I have accepted the position to be their first director. I will at least do it for a year until they can get up and running. The technology that is going into this observatory - mounts and OTA's are going to be fun to work with. We intend to also open the planetarium to the public and other schools in other districts.

I have not done any Clemson, Carolina Panther or USC games this year. The paper has decided to contract out all of their photography (budget) and they have let all of their salaried photographers go. I am and always have free lanced for them but they are now unwilling to pay - credential - and cover these events. They just pull images they need off of the wire. I expect the paper to go all ONLINE in the not too distant future and discontinue the print editions. The "Times" they are a changing! Pun intended!

No sooner than I answered the (have you shot any Clemson games) question....I got a call to see if I would do the ACC Championship game in Charlotte NC...about 75 miles from home. So I will be in the rain on Saturday night for a few pennies.
