Okay Hogs, I've been devastated by the horrible fires here in Northern California. Lost everything I own, but we're safe and well. I will not be able to rebuild nor replace my beloved Nikon gear, and probably wont be able to replace my home either.
I Guess I have my hand out begging to see if anyone has a Nikon DSLR camera with a lens, battery and charger they would donate, or sell VERY inexpensively.
So as NOT to turn this into a 3 ring circus, I would ask that anyone that has something to donate or sell, please "Private Message" me with what you have and the cost. At my age, I'm not ready to accept a cell phone as my only camera.
Thanks to anyone that can help. I know its a lot to ask. Please be reasonable though, even if you offered to sell me a D850 for $1,500.00, I don't have $1,500 to spend.
If I don't reply right away, its not that I'm not interested. I only get a chance to get to a computer intermittently.

I don't have a camera for you, Gary. I just want to say I am truly sorry and my thoughts are with you in this tragic time. Please let us know the outcome of the camera search and how you are progressing with your life and your photography.

Katydid,
We appreciate your thoughts. I will post once something comes along. We're in better shape than the folks camping in the Walmart parking lot for sure. I just never though a catastrophe of this magnitude would hit so late in my life. I was a Year from retirement. Now I might be 10 yrs away.

How about a D90 with 18-140 as long as you need it and send back when things get better?

tallshooter,
Thank you for the offer, but I'm really looking for something to own. Even if a lesser camera. The way my luck has been going, I'd end up dropping your camera and then Id feel horrible because I couldn't replace it.

You my friend are a very nice person. The world would be better off with more people like you.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Fellow hogs:
1st off, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your thoughts, prayers, well wishes, as well as camera offers. I believe I'll have a camera in my hands quite soon, so thank you once again for your kindness and great offers. Its heartwarming to read some of the replies from fellow hogs. I've literally sat in front of this borrowed laptop with tears streaming down my cheeks, and too choked-up to speak.
Thank you all,
-Gary
Gary...so happy you may have found something that will work for you. I might have a lens to ad...PM me and let me know what you do have. "I believe most people are good, and most mothers ought to qualify for sainthood" by Luke Bryan. Maybe Tim McGraw will get around to doing a squeal to his My Next 30 Years. It's title would be my last 30 years...where most of here are trying to squeeze each drop of life for all the sweetness if offers us. Sorry this happened to you at this point in your life. All blessings for recovery.
It's a backup of a backup of a backup.
