On Probation

Everyone at the Ministry of Mayhem is busy getting ready for the Thanksgiving Day holiday. I have the floors polished to a mirror-like shine, the kitties are grooming themselves and each other so they'll look their best, and the Dark Ladies are baking their hearts out--tuna pies, tuna bread, tuna and sweet potato casserole--and in a surprise move, for the non-feline among us, it appears we'll be having turkey for the main course this year instead of Madame P's perennial favorite--Baked-Stuffed Chlldren (she says she read an internet article that mentioned Naughty Children had been put on the endangered species list. As she's all about biodiversity, she says she's going with turkey. And that's okay by me--her BSC is a prize-winning classic, but I always have to use an inordinate amount of ketchup to get it down...).

And GoGo van Goghgogh is celebrating his pre-Thanksgiving transmogrification back to human form by contributing a new portrait of Madame P, his way of apologizing for his most recent drunken pass at her. A few days of green time sitting on a lily pad with bugs for lunch and not a drop of Plutonium Joy Juice, he sobers right up, becomes very contrite. She's put him on probation, but everyone knows after downing bottle or two of the stuff while he's painting, he'll forget himself and try to plant one on her again.

I will be stoned for saying, but Madame P is wrong. I'm surprised she let herself be duped. We are overrun with naughty children. They only hide behind a facade of good behavior for a few weeks out of the year. They know that Santa is watching more carefully as he prepares THE LIST in preparation for his upcoming trip around the world.

That said, I hope that you, Madame P, and everyone else at The Ministry have a very happy Thanksgiving.

PS - Turkey ain't that bad.

Thanks, Corky. Nothing at the Ministry is ever 'normal', but we've come to expect that as normal, lol. Glad you enjoyed this, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks as always for the kind comments and visit, always most appreciated!

Thanks, Blll. And no stones, you're quite correct. Madame P is having to go farther and farther afield to find those naughty children, having scooped up most of the local ones already! I've not noticed any shortages myself. But it was on the internet, so it must be true! LOL]

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, and thanks as always for the fun (and accurate!) comments, always most appreciated!

HATE Turkey but i must admit i am partial to a nice tasty dish of BSC with mushy peas. now and then and washed down with a large pint of John Smiths Smooth bitter. My mouth is watering just at the thought of it.I think GoGo has created his best masterpiece yet of the beautiful Madam P,i bet she was best pleased with it. Excellent work as always Randy or should i say Go Go

Thanks, Angler. Mushy peas seems the perfect choice to accompany the BSC, not to mention the John Smiths! LOL

Glad you enjoyed this one. GoGo says thanks for the kind words. Or he would, if he wasn't half-drowned in another bottle of Joy Juice.

Thanks as always for the laugh and your visit, it's very much appreciated!

Thanks, Bob. It's the usual pre-holiday uproar, cleaning, polishing, baking, mischief afoot. You know, the usual. Planning is shut down already, their work done and the staff sent home early. But of course Operations is in full swing--there are cat hair and lumps to put in the potatoes and gravy, pumpkin pies to walk on, trash to get into, turkey bones to feed to the dogs. This sort of mayhem doesn't just happen, they have to plan for months for this!

LOL

Thanks for the kind comment and your visit, always very much appreciated, and warmest wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and your family!
