Tonight at midnight arrives the 24 hours of Halloween, the best day of the year, or so say our Dark Ladies. To announce the onset of festivities, one of our special ladies (some call them wicked, but it's all relative...) on her broom will place a pentagram in the sky at sunset above the island home of the Ministry of Mayhem. There will be dancing, pumpkin carving, even some Trick-or-Treating, and all the while the Martian's Plutonium Joy Juice will flow freely! Let the celebration begin!!!

Thanks, Bob. An unusual combination of contrails and clouds and we had ourselves a pentagram in the sky! Perfect for Halloween, tho I took the shot about a month ago. But any excuse for Joy Juice! ; )

Thanks for stopping by and the laugh, always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Angler. There's evidence the Vikings actually attempted a landing here many years ago, but upon finding out the cost and paperwork required for a Permit to Invade (and we're not even considering the exorbitant costs for the additional Permits to Pillage and Burn), not to mention the minimum six-week delay in granting said permits while public hearings on the subject were held, government studies on the Environmental Impact of such pillaging and burning put together, and more delays while a determination of the tax structure for any capital gains resulting from such pillaging made. Further, an investigation of Diversity among the Vikings would have to be done, to be sure Viking Minorities and Women were properly represented in the Invasion, along with full provision for access for Vikings with Disabilities.

History records that the Vikings thought better of it, weighed anchor and sailed off to invade England and northern France, where the requirements for permits were somewhat less onerous.

; )

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always very much enjoyed and appreciated! Happy Halloween!

Thanks, Linda. You know me too well, lol. This spectacle presented itself while I was walking the beach one evening, no wicked witches in sight. And one (or at least this one...) does not often see pentagrams in the sky. So yes, gleeful all the way home, lol. Probably should have come up with a better story, but was going over photos today and thought it quite appropriate to post, given the date.

I do love that beach--always find something worth shooting!

Thanks for the smile and your visit, always most appreciated!

Glad I could teach the lovely MrsA about early American History! Much of it is little-known, lol, especially episodes like this.

But of course, the Ministry keeps extensive records...

It's a wonder anything at all gets done here, with all the regulations and hoops we have to jump through nowadays.

Thanks, Greg. An unusual formation of clouds and contrails. Maybe even a bit unsettling, lol. Thanks for your kind comments and visit, always much appreciated!

PS: If you get either the panther or bear at your door tonight, don't answer it! Even if you give them what they want, they won't go away...
