I am trying to show vacation pics on my Samsung tv. I’m trying to use my iPad as that’s where the photos reside. Since there are so many photos I made a much smaller album on the iPad but when I connect the tv it shows all the photos. Each SD card has a separate number following the Canon convention of numbering SD cards. Does anybody have a solution to show just the album I want. Camera was Canon 6D, late model iPad and Samsung Smart TV. Maybe I should say smarter than me TV. My laptop does not recognize the iPad so making a memory stick isn’t possible and town is 80 miles away and I hope to accomplish this before the next trip to town next week though if there is a hardware fix I suppose I can wait.

Select the album on the tablet, then cast to TV.

I have an older Sony TV and an older version of Apple TV hooked up to it. One of the options with the Apple TV is "computers". I have no problems mirroring anything on my MacBook Pro laptop, iPhone or iPad to the TV. When I mirror pictures I have had no problem going to the pictures or album that I want to show.
In my case I think it is easy because of the Apple TV. When I want to mirror anything from my Apple devices I do not try to use any of the apps on the TV, I just go to the Apple TV option.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Are you trying to mirror the iPad into the tv? Are you using a memory card through a USB port on the tv? Is the tv using proprietary software to show what's on the iPad? If this is the case you'll need to contact Samsung, or try a Samsung forum. Please explain in more detail your steps so far.

You didn’t say what brand laptop you have, but even if it is a PC, you should be able to connect your iPad with the USB cable and iTunes. If you have a PC, iTunes has a version that will load. Once you have them connected, you can transfer your images. If you are not sure how, let me know. It isn’t hard.

My Vizio Smart TV, and that lets me see pictures I have posted to - I forget what site. I never use that feature, but I bet your TV has something similar (if it's smart). Upload pictures from your computer and watch them on TV.

Probably every TV has a different way of showing photos, but perhaps the easiest, if not the cheapest, is using an Apple TV plugged into the back of pretty much any modern TV. You don't even need the newest Apple TV unit, so ebay might help here.

This probably does not solve your issue, but:
I simply put images on a flash drive and insert into one of the USB ports. Then, I change the "source" via the TV remote and select the USB. I run a slide show.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to successfully accomplish this despite my tech ineptitude.

Thanks for the reply. I was not suggesting that for the ipad. I know they do not have USB ports.

We have Apple TV. (I cut the cords to sat’s & cable 4yrs ago) and with this connected to any of our screens, I am able to “mirror” to the TV from any of our apple devises. iPads, iPhones, MacBook. We will also take with us when we visit relatives to share pics. TV brand not an issue. Now to sorting photos, I simply create a ‘To Share’ folder in the ‘photo’ app, this way I’m not searching all over for what I want to share. Hope this helps
