Problem with Canon 70D remote receptacle?

My Velo remote trigger does not work with my Canon 70D. I purchased another one and still does not work. Then I noticed that when I insert the plug, it does not fit snuggly like it used to. It wobbles a bit when inserted into the camera. (It is the sub mini connector, not the 3-pin connector.) Now I'm thinking the problem is with this receptacle in the camera. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think I need to send it to Canon for repair or could a local repair shop handle this? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I say send it to Canon, BUT don't send it by air like they are going to tell you to do--cast me $86.00!!! Send it by parcel post and good luck. Make sure you check it over when it comes back. I broke the LCD screen-$437.00, and they were going to do a complete check on it--now it doesn't work on AF. Sure, send it back$$$$$. I have a 80D. Time to rattle cages today!!

Send it in to Canon, unless you have a good camera repairman near you.

I do high school and med school Soccer games and basketball give the kids pictures. want to take some pictures of Granddaughter wedding in Jan 2019 I have T6i brought it 12-05-16 really like the pictures I went to Granddaughter Bridal Shower was taking pictures when I was taking pictures I look at them and it was having this black mark on it so I thought I might of got the strap in the picture took another picture same black mark every time but the black mark was getting bigger now could not see anything wrong. so put it away when I got home same big black mark I call canon up the guy was very nice to me told me to try the Sensor cleaning I told him I did that he said try the clean manually I said OK and there it was that big black arm laying there broke. got the camera back they said they found the camera had damaged shutter blades they replaced the shutter assembly. this is why I want to have a second camera but which one.
