What I really feel is that yes it has all gone to far, but people from both sides need to step back and understand that they are a big part the problem, and that the left hates as much if not more so than does the right.... but that is not to excuse the right, all one would have to do is go to a right leaning site and read the posted comments to see that they too are just as bad at being disrespectful.
Hello again. Thanks, that background information is important and helps get a bigger picture.
Yes, I seriously doubt you would see this kind of behavior from members of the Tea Party as I would think there would not be very many young GLBTQ folk claiming active allegiance to the Tea Party.
And if they did and they acted that rudely and obnoxiously their parents would have grounded them!
But you could expect to see similar behaviors from say a Westboro Church protest at the funeral of a solider and from both sides of the right/left. You would, I know, feel strongly about people holding up signs thanking God for killing your son because America does not condemn homosexuality. That's a very strong statement - very hateful - angry - violent - foolish and needless.
Many GLBTQ folk suffer a great deal - many of them suffer needlessly too from similar christian teachings that while saying: love the sinner hate the sin - in practice all too easily becomes - hate the sin - hate the sinner.
But you and i have no quarrel here that i see. Yes, the TP folk have been mostly ridiculed I'd say by the media whereas OWS in the end
and it was only at the end, became the darlings of the hip press. Personally I was hoping that this summer we would continue to see more OWS events of even greater magnitude because regardless of how civil or appropriate those protests were they were exactly what we need to keep the focus on where it needs to be!
And I agree that one place our attention needs to be is on finding ways to unite. From both sides - both the far right and far left and the vast numbers of US in between. As long as We, the people continue to bicker and dicker over pieces of paper (BC/tax returns) and other assorted concocted and confabulated "NEWS" and basically act like like little kids - "my daddy can beat up your daddy" - can we realistically expect politicians to be adults and not enjoin in the same inanity and insanity?
What kinda pics you like to take?[/quote]
Macro mostly, but I have been wanting to get out and do some landscape... kinda flat and boring where I am unless you get up really early and to catch some sunrises or maybe a few shots of birds at the beaches...
