Was in Colorado in early October, our main goal was to photograph elk in RMNP, but also wanted to get moose photos. We went to Brainard Lake RA in the early, before sun up hoping to find the big deer. The weather our first morning was terrible, heavy rain and strong winds, at times it seemed as if the rain was horizontal. When we reached Brainard, the light was very low, but there was a big bull moose, cow and calf standing in the middle of a fairly open area. We tried getting photos from the car, but was using because of the low light ISO's in the 5000 on up range. The next morning, even though it was our last day in Colorado we decided to head back to Brainard and maybe the sun would be out and there would be a moose.
We arrived just as the sun was lighting the area, and there in all his glory was a nice bull moose. He was moving quickly, but we both were able to get shots of him as he moved around the lake and up into the trees. Twenty-four hours made a world of difference!
Magnificent animals. I saw some a long time ago in Canada. Even from a distance you know this is one BIG Dude! Nice capture. I like the light on the antlers. I think he likes you.

These are nice! No download?
Very good shots -- the kind I personally prefer over using a gun to simply
hang those majestic antlers on your wall. I feel a photo does just as well.
And, I like how your 'lead in' tended to amplify your posting!

Looks like you also captured one of the harem in shot 1 just behind and left of Mr. Bull.
Nice catch on these images.
Both are nice, but the one with the sun on him is great!
