It happens once each year

I use The Photographer's Ephemeris to determine the day and time that the full moon is low and directly in line with the east-west street orientation in Chicago. I happened to catch sight of this once; each year I try to capture this event. This is looking east down Washington Street from LaSalle towards the Pritzker pavilion.

I keep clicking "Add Attachment" and this stupid Mac won't do it. I will keep trying.
It says it is uploading now.
Ahh! There it is!
Finally.

I agree with NMGal. Well planned and well executed. I assume you wanted the street action as well as the high rises, etc. Did you take any where you shot around the traffic, etc.? Just curious. As shot, the story is about this beautiful event as people rush around their busy lives. Thanks for sharing. jak

It isn’t the “stupid Mac”; it’s the impatient operator--no offense.

When you get used to fast on your own computer, slow on the bosses computer is very frustrating. Oh well. I guess I better get back to work editing his photos.

Shoot around the traffic? This is downtown Chicago on a weekday evening. Yes, I did want the full moon centered in the man made canyon. I have a couple of "shots" as the buses went by. All these people don't see or realize what is happening down the street. I was leaving work one evening a number of years ago and heading west to the train station. I just happened to look back and see this event and each year I try to capture it. Sometimes can't due to schedule, sometimes can't due to weather. Now I have to wait another year before trying again. Just wish I could take a picture from the Metra tracks over the street about another 1/4 mile west. That way I could shoot over the El tracks which were one block west of me, and, use a longer lens to make the moon relatively larger in the frame.

That all makes sense. I worked in downtown LA for 40 years and know what it's like as folks leave work. I'll look forward to more of your outstanding photos. jak
