I struggled with where to post this because the topic is certainly a topic for discussions regarding photography but the ensuing conversation would most likely be more appropriate placed in the general chit-chat.
This is quite and interesting article encompassing the history, leadership, and corporate culture. It brings to mind similar struggles within the corporation for which I work and many times I have commented to my coworkers and mentees that we are all cavemen pushing on a dinosaur trying to get it move and sometimes we get bit, sometimes we get eaten alive. It is interesting to note the effect of mergers and acquisitions in the matter of corporate survival and, too, with the proper consumption of the resources gained by a merger/acquisition. An inappropriate strategy leads to devastation and one must avoid the temptation of acting for the sake of doing something as opposed to taking the right action.

Interesting ....Thks for listing....
And yet it is Fujifilm that is starting the wholesale discontinuation of films and Kodak that in the last year has resurrected 2 of their greats.
That was a well written and insightful article. Excellent material. I learned many things - especially how well Fijii reinvented itself within ten years thru wise diversification, while Kodak sold valuable assets and remained stuck in the quicksand of a low margin business. Thanks for sharing.

That is not "and yet", that is just a logical follow-up of the same "reconstruction"!
