Flower. This flower grows from a type of ground cover and even though it looks a little like a hibiscus, it is not. The flower is generally less than 2 inches or so in diameter. The plant will die off after frost but will return from roots in the spring.

Pretty flower! This is a Dwarf Mexican Petunia. They are very drought and heat tolerant. I have the pink version in my garden and they are also available in white. They make a very colorful display and bloom a lot.

Thanks for the info on what it is. These have been spreading in my flower beds and although pretty, I'm trying to keep them contained.

They spread rapidly and come up a great distance from the parent plant. However, they are reasonably easy to control.
