I have a Sony A6500 and I like it a lot BUT I;m having something of a GAS attack. The Sony A7R used is available
my question sare:
1. Will I notiice a difference in quality between the 6500 crop sensor and the A7R Full frame?
2. My E mount lenses will work on the FE mount camera with an adapter, does this compromise the Full Frame advantage?

Backround:
1. I'm 89 years old and have been taking pctyres sibce I was 5 or so. Cameras over the years include Kodak box, Argus C-3, C-4, Rolliecord. Rolaflex, Kodak Retina,Konica, Minolta - I've probably missed some.

My picture interests are family, travel locations, NY Mets, US Open tennis, photo club contests.

Thanks in advance.

Your E mount will work on the Sony FE cameras without an adaptor. In terms of MP you will have the same amount on the A7R as you do on the A6500. The A7Rii has 42 MP and that would be an increase. However, the build and function of the sensor in the A6500 is better than the A7R. A6500 is a great camera and I would suggest staying with that camera unless you are considering the A7iii or the A7Rii or the A7Riii.

Thank you for your reply - the only one I received, by the way. I never intended to exchange my 6500 for the A7R just thinking about adding a full frasme to my arsenal. Surprised that the E-mounts would work on the A7R without an adapter. Again, thanks. I think I'll just continue with what I've got.
