The Best Season

I've more than once asked Madame P and the Dark Ladies of the Ministry if they could come up with a weather spell, so that it could be one season all year long.

The reply is that yes, such an enchantment is within their power, but they can't agree on the best season. Madame P prefers those hot beach days, while Dark Lady Kimberly loves to ski in the deep snows of Winter, and the lovely Miss Morningstar enjoys the flowers of Spring.

They're all wrong, of course. Fall, with its color, comfortable temps, and glorious sunsets, is easily the best time of year.

But as I'm only the astronaut/custodian and not one of the magical folk here, no one listens to me, and my opinions are ignored. Even when I'm right.

Beautiful picture. I can't agree with myself about the best season. I like them all, so living where I do is perfect.

I tend to agree with you. Those days of finally being rid of the heat and not yet confined by drifts of snow along with the colorful presentation the trees provide make this a very nice time of the year. But, then, who wants to argue with "The Ladies".

I have to admit that I like fall the best. Except for the days of 'Indian Summer' when the temperatures try to reach their maximum again. Early snow can be an issue but then, it might be a hint of the winter to come (too much!) One year a local witch decided that she needed to have no snow for the winter vacation to the East Coast and cast her spell upon the jet streams to moderate the weather. It worked. The trip to Williamsburg and back to the SW desert was uneventful weather-wize. However, sometime in January or February, we had a record breaking snow (5') that closed The Laboratory (main business in town) for a whole week. The final mounds didn't completely melt until late April or early May.

Since then I try not to manipulate the weather. But it is difficult at times.

What a gorgeous photo Randy, and I totally agree with you-FALL is the absolute best season of the year! I wish it lasted longer, but the colors, the crispness in the air, pumpkins,... need I say more

I don't think it would be safe to take sides on this question but your lovely land/seascape certainly appears to be a glorious time of year!

Thanks, Jerry. Certainly one can find something to like in every season. But the ladies are wrong, and Fall is best of all! Just ask me. Lol!

Thanks for stopping by and your kind comment, always much appreciated!

Absolutely, lol! Thanks, John. Never mind the beach bums, ski bunnies, or flower girls. Fall’s the best time of year, hands down. And if they had any sense, those Dark Ladies would listen to me!

Ah, well. Such is my fate. 😉

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always much appreciated!
